Case Study: Tech Law AZ

The University of Arizona Law's TechLaw program

A Brighter Future at the Intersection of Law, Tech, and Business

There is a growing need for professionals who understand both technology and law, and can synthesize the demands and opportunities of both. Tech-savvy lawyers add value in traditional legal settings—the law firm, the boardroom, the courthouse—but they also increasingly play critical roles in private firms and government offices where that shape technology norms and policy.

TechLaw AZ believes more organizations will need lawyers who have also received rigorous technical training. In order to help fill that demand, they are recruiting STEM students to law, cultivating faculty work in law and technology, partnering with tech-focused employers, and convening special events that examine how technology is changing the practice of law and the administration of justice.

University of Arizona Law’s TechLaw program was created to start a new kind of dialog, and a new kind of lawyer. Their work fosters a unique approach to law and technology that is geared toward fully understanding and solving a problem using the best available mix of technical, legal, and industry tools and standards.

Cecily and her team are the best in town!! They created a beautiful, functional site for our multimillion-dollar nonprofit, resulting in an almost-immediate improvement in our search rankings, increased traffic to the site, and decreased bounce rate. Our customers have loved how easy the site is to navigate and how it integrates with our CRM. Single Focus has been an incredible teammate in this project--from the moment we sat down to do discovery, Cecily listened to our lofty hopes and dreams for the site and provided her expertise to make it all become a reality. Since launch, they've been there every step of the way--they trained our team to manage the site on our own and have responded quickly to every question that's come up since the hand-off. We are so thrilled with the end result and can't recommend the Single Focus crew highly enough!

Refreshing new look for the Museum

Their new website does just that.

The museum has 17,000 square feet and 13 exhibit areas filled with components that encourage kids to build, create, imagine, explore and discover. This is play-based learning at its best!

BRANDING/IDENTITY PACKAGE

Logo Design

The client was ready to redesign their website, but without an outdated logo.

Single Focus Web offered a logo package that included an updated logo design of CIC’s logo and creating new brand that can grow with the organization.

Overall, it was a successful branding project with complete client input. CIC’s new brand continues to be a success across all digital platforms and media.

Stock Photography Assets

Brand Elements

With new loan programs, the client needed a refresh of their visual identity, specially photography.

Single Focus Web’s solution was a library of stock photography, focusing on diversity in small businesses and families. These fit into the new site which included a fresh color palette and custom fonts.

Working with the Single Focus Web team has been both enjoyable and educational. Not only do they do an incredible job of developing a user friendly website, but the provide you with the tools to keep it up date, dynamic and full of important content. In this rapidly changing digital landscape working with Cecily and Jessica to keep things beautiful on a budget is exactly what nonprofits need.

I had the privilege of completing a project with Cecily that she had worked on with my organization prior to my joining it. I greatly appreciate her thoroughness, her patience in working with us through multiple iterations, as well as her patience and willingness to explain many things to me about web design. She is very responsive, goes beyond in providing customer support and service, and delivers a high-quality product and the skill set that allows the customer to keep it current and dynamic. Our new site is engaging and fresh and we saw this immediately in an increase in traffic to the site. The tools she provided enable us to continue to add and refresh content regularly, which we could not do at the same level on our previous site. This was my first time managing the build and launch of a major website and I could not have asked for a better person to work with on it than Cecily.

Children's Advovocacy Center New Website

Case Study: Children’s Advocacy Center of Southern Arizona

Where abuse ends and healing begins

Before Children’s Advocacy Centers existed, a child could end up having to tell the worst story of his or her life repeatedly, to doctors, law enforcement officers, lawyers, therapists, investigators, judges, and others. They would have to talk about that traumatic experience in a police station where they think they might be in trouble, or they could be asked the wrong questions by well-meaning teachers or other adults, that could actually end up compromising the potential case against the abuser.

When law enforcement or the Department of Child Safety believe a child may be experiencing abuse, the child is brought to the Children’s Advocacy Center—a safe, trauma informed, child-focused environment—by a non-offending family member or caregiver.

The child will tell their story once to a trained forensic interviewer who knows the right questions to ask in a way that does not retraumatize the child. Then, a team that includes medical professionals, law enforcement, prosecution, Department of Child Safety, victim advocacy, and other professionals make decisions together about how to best help the child based on the interview. This is called the multidisciplinary team (MDT) response and is a core part of the work of the Children’s Advocacy Center.
